2013 WHS Marching Band

I have attached the medical/permission form for next year's marching band members. Our membership meeting is next Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 in the high school band room. You can print the form and bring it filled out, or you can complete it at the meeting. Please also bring 2 copies (front and back) or your insurance card, as well as the $50 deposit. Remember this meeting is mandatory for all marchers (new and returning) and you need to contact me ASAP if you have a conflict.

The following rising 8th grade students have been selected to march with the 2013 WHS Marching Warriors.  Make sure you have a schedule for the fall season (download from an earlier post below).

MPA Band Results

Congratulations to the 2013 MPA Band for earning "Superior" ratings from all four judges at the SCDBA Middle School Concert Band MPA event on March 13th.  The "Straight Superior" rating is the highest possible in the event and continues a 15 year streak of such ratings at Weddington Middle School.

February Announcements

• Members of the MPA Band are reminded of the two after school rehearsals on MARCH 11th and 12th from 4p-6p.  These two rehearsals are the only rehearsals in which the entire MPA Band will meet and are essential to prepare for the MPA Band performance at Wingate University on March 13th.  A detailed schedule for the performance date will be posted as soon as it is available.
• Students participating in All-County Band on February 8th and 9th should meet at Porter Ridge High School during the registration time.  Students attending have been given a handout with the schedule included.
• Information on the 2013 Weddington High School Marching Band season will be posted soon for rising 9th graders.

January Announcements

• All students need to stay up to date with turning in practice records.  Turn-in dates are listed on each record.

• Progress reports will be going home on Thursday for 7th/8th Grade and Friday for 6th Grade.

• 7th/8th Grade students auditioning for SCDBA Honors Band on January 12th need to be in the gym at South Point High School between 8:15am and 8:30am.  Students have been given a handout with more details.
